Holland Festival

A small Wisconsin community that is almost half way between Milwaukee and Green bay is called Cedar Grove. The community was established in 1840 by Dutch immigrants. It still honors its roots via the Holland festival. The last Friday and Saturday of every July the festival is held with people in traditional Dutch costumes, street washing, klompen races and dancing, Dutch foods, as well as a parade throughout town.

Dutch llama? Why not? Add some baskets of tulips and you have a "Dutch llama". When we can, we like to attend Cedar Grove's Holland Festival. Our llamas love to walk in the parade and greet the people. It's fun for the whole family --llamas included! Several other llama farms in the southeastern Wisconsin area, as well as a local 4-H group, usually join in on the festival fun. It's a wonderful festival that is steeped in tradition with lots of family fun centered activities. Sharing your llama with people is always a special treat, for the people, as well as the llama.
